February 2013.... when it all started!
32 yrs old, I have been a bigger guy most of my life, but always been comfortable with it.
So February 3rd, 2013 I decided to check my weight, I got on the scale and it said 297 lbs, WTF! Couldn't believe I had let myself get that big, 250's was my highest weight before.
I immediately started a diet, after a week I weighed in again, weight was still 297 WTF!!! so I got on the scale with my son EJ (30 lbs) the scale still said 297, I first wondered, was I too heavy for the scale to give me a accurate weight? LOL. Then, I realized I needed a new scale.
On the new scale my weight was 272.5 lbs, a lot better than 297 but I was already worked up and wanted to lose the weight so I started out on my journey.

The challenge was to Lose 80 lbs in 24 weeks.
To make this more manageable, I broke it down NFL/NBA Style: 4 Quarters!
6 weeks each quarter
Lose 20 LBS every quarter/6 wks - starting weight: 272 lbs
I had lost 67.5 lbs, in 24 weeks missing my goal by 12.5 lbs. I was very happy with my results, but needed to hit my goal so I went to OVERTIME!
OVERTIME - January 2014 I got all the way down to 188.5 lbs.
Losing a total of 84 lbs!
To make this more manageable, I broke it down NFL/NBA Style: 4 Quarters!
6 weeks each quarter
Lose 20 LBS every quarter/6 wks - starting weight: 272 lbs
- After 1st quarter, I lost 21.2 lbs - 251.3 lbs
- After 2nd quarter, I lost 16.3 lbs - 235 lbs.
- After 3rd quarter, I lost 20.5 lbs - 214.5 lbs
- End of 4th Quarter - Lost 9.5 lbs - 205 lbs.
I had lost 67.5 lbs, in 24 weeks missing my goal by 12.5 lbs. I was very happy with my results, but needed to hit my goal so I went to OVERTIME!
OVERTIME - January 2014 I got all the way down to 188.5 lbs.
Losing a total of 84 lbs!
The journey wasn't easy and it had a lot of ups and downs but I was very focused on achieving my goal, negative and positive comments fueled me to continue!
You can achieve anything you put your mind to, just know that it wont be easy and you will have to work really hard.
